Recap of the Grade 7 Week Without Halls Trip

On October 2, all of the Grade 7 students went on an overnight trip to Cedar Ridge Camp, a 150-acre property on picturesque Lake Wanamaker near Bancroft, Ontario. It was an incredible trip where we created lasting memories while having lots of fun!

During this trip, we learned about collaboration and team building. While doing this, we created some wonderful friendships as we all got to spend lots of time together, hanging out in the Winter Lodge and playing games during our breaks.

One of the numerous highlights in our trip was the talent show! This event allowed us to demonstrate our creative thinking and teamwork skills, which were displayed by the initiative and effort everyone put into creating their skits and dances. Everyone got the opportunity to play a role in the show. Whether it was participating, or just supporting your friends, we all had an incredible time!

Another part of our trip worth mentioning, which the Grade 7’s really enjoyed, was the Polar Bear Dip! This was a thrilling experience and something very unique to Cedar Ridge. It was quite refreshing and a great way to wake up in the morning. Although it was freezing, it was a highlight for many of the students.

Lastly, the engaging activities presented at the camp were quite fun and by far the favorite at camp. The activities enabled the students to try new things and step out of their comfort zone. They took risks, learning how to canoe or use a GPS tracker. To elaborate, the students tried rock climbing, archery and much more.

The Grade 7’s trip was an exhilarating experience to begin Middle School at BH and gave us a unique and special way to bond. Furthermore, it was a great way to acquaint ourselves with new classmates and teachers.
